How to Reach Skardu from Islamabad? The journey between Skardu and Islamabad is among the most popular routes in Northern Pakistan, making for an exciting road trip or weekend escape. Islamabad to Skardu is approximately 640 kilometers and the most convenient way to travel is by air. Alternatively, you can choose to travel by NATCO-operated buses, which take around 13 hours. These buses depart from Faizabad Station. Cab services are also available and can be booked online. Please note that there are no trains running on this route and the nearest airport to Skardu is Islamabad International airport, which is around 30 kilometers away. This airport offers direct flights from Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Multan.
